Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
Had to come back to the cellphones...the other one that gets me is people who don't turn their ringers off when they're someplace public like the theater or church.
Nothing says "I only give a !@#$ about me" more than letting your phone ring in the middle of a funeral. Can't tell you how many times I've heard that happen when I was singing at one.

Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
I was referring to the parking spot fools. Try this VT, when one is waiting for your spot, load your purchase in your car, then calmly turn and walk back into the store, then watch their face
Nice call on the tea refill, I also drink tea and think coffee is disgusting, but it didnt occur to me I should get a new teabag.
As for kids, mine are as well behaved as can be, it only takes a look from me for them to correct bad behavior, and no Ive never spanked them. Watching the unruly kids at bowling makes sense when I see the slugs who made them, aka their parents. Thankfully Thomas is teamed up with two great kids, and no surprise their dads are good guys.

Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
even the best parents can't keep their kids from acting up every single minute of the day; people are delusional if they think that you can train a kid to be as obedient as a dog...kids are no more trainable than a cat...
I'm not saying that there aren't parents that have no business being parents, however...

Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
Of course you can't keep your kid from acting up every single minute of the day...I'm just saying when they do inevitably act up, it's your responsiblity as their parent to take the situation under control. And if you're out in public, remember there are other people around you and you need to respect them as well. In other words, if your kid is screaming TAKE THEM OUT OF THE STORE, or theater or bowling alley or wherever they happen to be. The rest of us don't need to listen to their shrieking.
And having just come back from helping out at the monthly coffee and doughnuts get together at our church, I have one more pet peeve...
When you're a member of a group that is responsible for hosting such an event, "helping out" does not mean walk in, drop off your baked good and leave. You could stay and actually physically help set up/serve/clean up. There are at least 25 members of our choir and inevitably the same 3 people end up doing all the work at every event!

Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
Cause they know a soft touch when they see one Sue.
Agree on the kids, annoys the hell out of me when parents just look away and let a kid scream.

Re: Things that perturb/annoy...
Sad but true on the soft touch, bec. They know who the responsible ones are and that they'll step up every time, which is terribly unfair...and terribly stupid on the part of the responsible ones. We need to walk away from that responsibility every now and then.
