Tesla

Racked up 198,000 pre orders for it new lower priced car yesterday. Since they dont have dealerships yet.. thanks republicans.. we have a few in some casinos they are giving away. They are really sharp looking cars with a 215 mile range per charge. Most casinos here have charging stations and CA is installing them statewide.
I dont have any financial interest I just love that something is moving forward, ok they are building their mega factory here due to open next year emoticon

On the other hand Reno approved a huge increase in solar tax for private citizens pushed by our electric company basically making solar a lost investment for people who shelled out money to install solar panels. It just amazes me how politicians get on their knees to screw over common sense..

Re:

$35K even with tax credits still puts them out of the range of many buyers.

Re:

Yes but thats where the mega factory should help, reducing the battery cost is the biggest thing. When I first moved here I worked for a company that was making electri car batteries, but they had to ship everything to China cause nobody in the US had the tech to do it. Wound up losing money on each battery they went out of business.
Of course the way I see it is if you spend $50 a week in gas thats $10K over 4 years making it a 25K car, up front cost but long term savings, and since Im not a "run out and buy the new thing" person Id see a great ROI.
But I guess Im not most people.
