I'll watch a few Nickolas Cage movies because he's in [sign in to see URL] some of them, it wasn't a wise choice...

If something (tv/movie) has William McDaniels in it, I'll give it a shot...

Has anyone here seen "Happy Endings"?

Wow, how did that one ever make it past the powers that be at ABC? It's an incredibly bad show. Just end it mercifully already.

Never saw it, Reese, but there are a lot of shows that make me wonder how they ever got on the air.

Just this past weekend, bec and I watched The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Hadn't seen it in ages and I was surprised how well it actually held up. There was a lot of thought in that movie, a lot of nuance for a creature film. Well worth the watch!

Over the weekend I finally got around to some stuff on my DVR, including the surprisingly good, "Dinner for Schmucks" which has some elements of pathos in between the more slapstick elements of the dinner itself. Then again, I'm also a sucker for Zach Galifinakis' style of humor. Steve Carrell makes his character very likeable despite his quirks.

Re: Recently viewed movies/shows?

I went and saw "The Vow" today for an afternoon with the wife, where I took her to Olive Garden for lunch; picked up some pastries at a European Bakery; and then off to an afternoon matinee...

very good movie, I thought that it was a tearjerker, but my wife didn't (she liked it, but didn't see it as emotionally as me; maybe because it's taken more from the man's perspective)...the guy (Tatum Channing) has to watch his wife in a coma due to flying through a windshield after a snowplow rammed them while they were stopped at a stop sign...

when she (Rachel McAdams) comes out of the coma, she remembers her life up until 5 years ago (which is a year before they met)...

she apparently came from a snooty family, and the father takes advantage of the situation, and gets the daughter to move back in with her parents...

I won't go any further with the story line in case anyone wants to see the movie...

The only part that I'll say, is that you can't go wrong with a Rachel McAdams [sign in to see URL]'s one of the best actresses out there right now...

I don't have Showtime so I can only see it as it comes out on DVDs.
