Civil Question

Objectively, if you were on the outside of the USA looking in right now, how would you view the current president?

the thing is, it's not just the idiot, pompous self centered [sign in to see URL] Senate, the House of Representatives and the entire Republican Party has turned into a vile unit with no consideration about the people

Depends on if you're looking at him and the Government as a whole with your own eyes or through the lens of the media, which DRASTICALLY mis-represents much of what is currently going in Washington.

Oh and [sign in to see URL] Democrats are no better. The entire thing is a mess, nobody's got a monopoly on it.

not saying they [sign in to see URL] am independent, no party affiliation...

but the republicans have turned into a bunch of underhanded, self-centered, self-righteous worms that don't give a !@#$ about anyone's wellbeing unless they are rich

The question was simple, how do you view the President if you lived outside the US

[sign in to see URL] we made that clear (well, other than Sue, who actually buys into the Conservative [sign in to see URL], she did get it right that both sides are more concerned with selling their version of the "truth" instead of doing what is right for their constituents)...he may not be viewed as badly as some of the leaders from Asia or [sign in to see URL] he is certainly not viewed world wide as a nice, intelligent leader like the Prime Minister of Canada [sign in to see URL] you don't know, Justin Trudeau is in charge of Canada (who can eloquently explain Quantum Physics, whereas Trump comes across with the personality of Archie Bunker with the brain of Homer Simpson)

I'm off to Romania on Sunday and when I return on June 2nd I'll probably have quite an earful on this subject. I know when it was prior to the election in 2016 when I was in Lisbon and Barcelona during October the folks over there respected the opposition and had serious questions about the personality and stability of the man who would eventually take the office of president.

I agree that both parties are far too partisan and seem more interested in being right than in serving their constituents. That being said, I do have to stand up and applaud some of the Republicans who have enough backbone to say the emperor has no clothes. John McCain, for one, is calling for serious investigations into his boss' dealings with the Russians and his handling of Comey's termination.

I have little interest in getting into a political conversation with you three as I know all too well by now where you stand, but I take offense to being characterized as "brainwashed". I think for myself, thank you very much, and I have a very concrete basis for my assertions about the press. It's the same reason I have for knowing that our President is not viewed nearly as badly outside of this country as he is here. But you go on believing what you want and belittling my viewpoint if it makes you feel better.
